Today's walk, whilst not that long, was brutal. So many hills, so many rocky, steep paths. It was a pretty terrible day, not the least due to the awful night we'd had in the albergue in Los Arcos.
When we arrived at Viana, Noni's knee was in a terrible way.
We stopped at the first albergue we saw and got ourselves a private room so we could avoid the likes of the American man. We said this jokingly, but then he appeared there an hour later. At least we weren't sharing a room with him.
Although the room was private, the bathroom was unisex and shared. I really hate those, I can't tell you. It's fine for all the middle aged men, they walk around in nothing but undies, although I wish they wouldn't. For a young(ish) female, it's just very unpleasant. For a catholic pilgrimage, you'd think there'd be separate male and female rooms and bathrooms. It would make for a much nicer Camino, for the women especially.
We could also hear all the noises from the bathroom as it was directly above us. Every. Single. Sound. We did a lot of giggling that night because farts are funny.
